Brand building with Integrity

When building a brand, it is important to understand that to build brand loyalty, there is some type of belief in the product or services. Meaning, people will buy from someone or some company they trust. However, how do you build that trust if no one or that buyer has not done business with you. The answer is not as simple as market, Google AdWords, etc. The answer is what you as a consumer are looking for (1) longevity, (2) quality for relative fair price (no cheap), (3) brand recognition, and (4) communication.

Longevity

Consumers look to make sure you have some stability. That you are not just going to take money and live in the wind. And this does not matter how much money is spent. Longevity usually signifies that you have proven yourself in the marketplace.

Quality for a fair price

Please do not confuse ‘fair price’ with being the cheapest. This simply means that the services and/or product you are providing are fair with the quality. Rolex and Rolls Royce are expensive brands, but it takes six (6) months to build a Rolls Royce; and approximately one (1) year to craft a Rolex. So, I would suggest that the price that each company charges for their product is fair. It is important to take this same line of thinking with your business or career. Make sure it is quality for a price.

Brand recognition

You might have heard of ‘name recognition’, but there is a such thing as a ‘brand recognition.’ Both virtually mean the same; however, ‘brand recognition’ is consumers knowledge of the existence of you (or your brand). Furthermore, what does the consumer think of when your brand comes to mind. This is where marketing, public relations, and presence in your space is important. You must know your story and craft it in a manner where your consumer base understands and are compelled to engage in business with you.

Communication

One must communicate with the public through social media, emails, community involvement, etc. It is not enough to have money, register your business, and create a website. You must engage your community. One of the best and free ways is through social media. But what is more important is the way you communicate your business to your audience.

All in all, when building a brand, it is important to build integrity with your potential consumer. Let them know you are here for the long haul. Give your buyers high quality product or services for a fair price. Work on your name as if your life depends on it. And lastly, communicate who you are and what you want from your audience.

KEY TAKE AWAYS:

Develop business by (1) showing company’s commitment to longevity in the marketplace; (2) providing high quality products/services for a fair price [not cheap], (3) building brand recognition via potential consumer engagement ; and (4) communicating your purpose and who you are effectively to you client base.
