The Power of Habits

The Power of Habits is not only becoming successful but is also about becoming very engaged in your “why” and your purpose of living. Often times we see too many people who are wanting to push themselves to the next level but they don't have any type of engagement. They have no type of measurement. They have no type of measuring stick to show “hey I am actually doing what it is that I really want to do.” A lot of times people ask “you have four degrees, how do you do it?” Well, I broke it all in small steps. And I rewarded myself every time I achieved those small steps. It seems very elementary but in honesty it is very basic. It is not some rocket science. It isn’t that I’m smarter than most other people. Even though People look at what I’ve accomplished and say “amazing!” But here is the thing I would tell anybody and everybody, you can accomplish  anything that you put your mind to accomplish. Your why has to be very strong.  Now more than ever is a great time to find y

True Life Goals

Most of the time people talk about goals, either short-term, S.M.A.R.T., or D.U.M.B. goals. As I’m a fan of having goals for every stage of your life; it is important to focus on ultimate True-Life Goals. Meaning, obtaining a college degree, making six-figures annually, getting married are all great goals. But we need to understand the purpose of those goals. Sometimes we can get caught up in achieving and forget the reasoning for striving towards goals in the first place. For example, one of my life flaws was when I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. When I was attending the institution, I was making horrible grades because my ultimate goals were to make a lot of money. And at the time, that was to become an engineer. However, I wasn’t as passionate about engineering as I was psychology. So, the low level of interest was the reason for my low grades. But, as soon as I switched my major to psychology, my grades drastically improved.

Staying true to yourself

A man saw a snake being burned to death & decided to take it out of the fire. When he did, the snake bit him. The man dropped the snake & the reptile fell back into the fire. So, the man grabbed a metal pole, took the snake out of the fire & saved its life. Someone who was watching asked the man, “why did you save the snake after it bit you?” The man replied, “the nature of the snake is to bite, but that’s not going to change my nature, which is to help.” đŸ”¥Moral of story: Don’t change your nature because of someone else bad personality. How often have we changed who we are become someone is mad? Or we clammed up because someone didn’t respond the way that we thought they should? I think it is important to stay the course and focused regardless of other people behaviors. Too many times people want to fit in and make others happy not knowing that it is impossible. Every human being on this planet is responsible for their happiness. Yes, it is important to stay true
